Geert Lap (1955-2017) is a Dutch ceramist. His designs seem simple and almost industrial at first glance. However, Lap's objects are entirely hand-formed, with his technique removing any traces of manual work. The focus in his designs is entirely on the shape of the object he tries to execute as perfectly as possible. Lap followed his ceramics course at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam under the direction of ceramist Jan van der Vaart.
