Floris Meydam, Unique glass vase, Glass Factory Leerdam, 1980

This cylindrical shaped one-off object is a great example of the minimal glass designs that Floris Meydam created in the last decades of the 20th century. It is made of thick colorless crystal glass over layers of orange to opaque brown glass. The deeper layers show a horizontal contraction. The contraction is surrounded by a perfectly blown horizontal air bubble in the colorless overlay. This work is signed with 'Leerdam Unica FM 80179 LL F. Meydam'.
