'Zigzag' torso made out of Carrara marmer by Dutch artist Eja Siepman van den Berg (1943). In 1971 Siepman travelled to Carrara, the place where the marmer is from, to learn more about sculpting. She is a master in studying poses and movements and translating them into sculptures with a perfectly smooth surface. Siepman has won several important prizes, such as the Prix de Rome in 1967, the Charlotte van Pallandt prize in 1978 and the Wilhelminaring in 2017. Her sculptures are exhibited in museums as well as private collections. Her works are also exhibited in the public space, such as in Dordrecht, Groningen and Leeuwarden.
