Cris Agterberg (1883 - 1948) was a Dutch artist. Because of his growing fame, he wanted to broaden his production. Therefore, he decided to collaborate with Glass Factory Leerdam and the potteries Zaalberg, Zenith and Schoonhoven. This white glazed sculpture was executed at Schoonhoven. Here he has produced several sculptures in the second part of the 1920s, including several female figures. This object has typically slender and stylised forms in the combined symbolistic and expressionistic style of the Amsterdam School. Works by Agterberg can be found in the collections of Dutch museums, like Centraal Museum Utrecht.
