Encaustic Painting 'Moss' by Anke Roder, 2000

Encaustic painting 'Moss' by Anke Roder (1964). Anke Roder specialised in paintings with the encaustic technique, pigments mixed with fluid (bees)wax and then applied on wood with a hot spatula. Roder does this layer after layer, the intermediate layers egalised each time before applying a new layer. This still can be seen along the edges (see pictures). SIgned on the back: 'Anke Roder MOSSEN XIII 2000'. Her works can be found in many company collections in the Netherlands and private collections all-over the world.
