Laura Diaz de Santillana (1955-) is the granddaughter of Paolo Venini, founder of the Venini glass factory, one of the leading figures in the production of Murano glass. Her father, Ludovico Diaz de Santillana, was director of Venini. Laura Diaz de Santillana was brought up with love for glass work. During the period 1976-1985 she worked for Venini and learned the age-old techniques of Murano glass. Today she is one of the leading female glass artists in the predominantly masculine world of Murano. Numerous exhibitions were dedicated to her work.
