This Tazza-like hollow bowl with spiraling white threading and striking applique´s in blue, yellow and white is a remarkable studio glass one-off. It was made in Murano (Italy) by Andries Dirk Copier in collaboration with master glassblower Lino Tagliapietra in 1981. The piece is signed on the underside of the foot: Lino Tagliapietra A.D. Copier Maggio 81 effetre international (Vibro-engraving); 81 05 03 (diamond point engraving). It is a squat cone on a conical flaring hollow foot; the upper depression achieved by the vacuum technique. The opening is blown or created by suction in the slightly domed foot. This item is described and documented in the publication 'Andries Dirk Copier. Ideas in glass. Unica and more' by Dieter Enke (Arnoldsche, 2009). A copy of this book will be included.
