Purple 'Scavo' vase designed by Alfredo Barbini in Murano in the 1960s. Signed 'Barbini Murano'. 'Scavo' literally means 'excavated' and refers to the rough surface of the glass, which imitates the appearance of old, excavated glass. This effect was obtained by covering the glass with semi-melted glass powders mixed with sand. This rough texture creates a beautiful contrast with the decoration of a blue metallic line. Price for the set of three Barbini vases: 950 euro.
