Beautiful glazed ceramic vase with floral motif designed by Theo Colenbrander for Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland around 1913. Daniël Harkink developed the exquisite glaze known for its matte finish. The decor was applied after the glaze. This way, the glaze and the ceramic paint melted together into an evenly coloured and smooth surface. The object was painted by Wim van Ham (1894-1984). The vase is signed at the bottom with '0158 S P256', '0158', 'WvH' and Colenbrander signature. The letter 'H' stands for Hoyng, Harkink and Holland. Only Colenbranders works for earthenware factory Zuid-Holland are signed this way.
