Colourful oil painting 'Herten aan de bosrand' ('Deer at the edge of the forest') made by Jacoba 'Jemmy' of Hoboken (The Hague, 1900 - Wageningen, 1962) in ca. 1920. Van Hoboken took drawing lessons from Han van Meegeren from 1920-1922 and was a pupil of Erwin Knirr and Professor Walter Thor in Munich. She worked for a time in Blaricum and became a member of the 'Vereeniging voor Beeldende Kunsten Laren-Blaricum' ('Association for Visual Arts Laren-Blaricum'). She painted figures, animals, fairy tales, biblical scenes and still lifes. She did not sign her early work, like this painting from ca. 1920.
