Original 1924 gouache stencil by Albert Gleizes, 'Composition à trois éléments' ('Composition of three elements'). Gleizes works in simplified, stylized geometric forms and shapes. It is not completely abstract; often you can recognize human figures and architecture in his works. Paper size: 46,5 x 38 cm, inside of passe-partout: 39 x 30,5 cm. Albert Gleizes (1881-1953) was a French artist. He is associated with the development of the cubist and abstract movements among prominent figures like Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and Metzinger. Gleizes works can be found in many public and private collections like the MoMA (New York) and Tate Modern (London).
