On our blog pages we publish about 20th-century (decorative) arts, collecting art and our experiences as art dealers. We regularly put a new blog online. Did you know that many pewter objects by the Gero factories from the 20's and 30's were inspired by Danish silver design?

The well-known silver designer Georg Jensen was the first to decorate beautiful silver bowls with bunches of grapes. The bowls that Gero produced in pewter a couple of years later show a striking resemblance, but lack the refinement that characterizes Jensen's silver. It was the Danish designer Georg Nilsson who had carefully studied the designs by his former colleague Georg Jensen. Want to know more about the influence that Georg Jensen and other foreign designers from the 20th century had on Dutch design? Go to our blog.
