Unique vase in blue and green designed by Andries Dirk Copier, executed by Bernard Heesen in studio De Oude Horn in 1989. The beautiful organic shapes and folds of the edge of the vase are applied by hand. According to Heesen, this 'deconstruction' of the classical vase has similarities with 'deconstructivist' architecture, in which classical norms such as harmony, purity and stability are disturbed. The vase is signed with 'A.D. Copier 890505 Oude Horn Bernard'. This work is depicted in Enke, D., 'Andries Dirk Copier, Ideas in Glass, Unica and More', Arnoldsche Art Publishers, Stuttgart and Dieter Enke, Berlin, 2009, pp. 174-175.
