This beautiful Serica glass object with a pattern of blue glass powders was designed by A.D. Copier for the Royal Glassworks in Leerdam. The Leerdam Serica are glass designs from the Art Deco period, that were produced in small series. This item is an example of the rare Serica design no. 26. It has the Serica mark on the bottom. Andries Dirk Copier (1901-1991) was an outstanding and very versatile Dutch glass artist in the twentieth century. He became in 1927 artistic director of the Glass factory Leerdam. He is considered the most well-known glass artist of his age.
