Wendingen comes to life: design on paper > object in the gallery

In this SALES EXHIBITION the monthly Wendingen comes to life in the gallery! Under the direction of architect Hendrik Wijdeveld, no less than 116 issues were devoted to contemporary art forms between 1918 and 1932. A large collection of this famous 'monthly magazine for building and decorating' is combined in the sales exhibition with matching objects from the Kunstconsult collection. Think of glassware by Chris Lebeau and A.D. Copier, ceramics by W.C. Brouwer, design by W.H. Gispen and interior art by Hildo Krop.

Wendingen comes to life: design on paper > object in the gallery

At the initiative of art society Architectura et Amicitia, the monthly magazine Wendingen aimed to bring together architecture and applied art. Under the inspiring leadership of architect and editor-in-chief Hendrik Wijdeveld, this fusion of different art disciplines became a work of art in itself. In addition to its content, the art magazine was internationally known for its unconventional typography and decorative covers that were designed by major artists such as Chris Lebeau, C.A. Lion Cachet, Hildo Krop, Mommie Schwarz and W.H. Gispen.

The sales collection is on show until 29 March 2019.

Regular opening hours: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 13 to 17 PM of by appointment.
