Giò Ponti (1891 – 1979) was an Italian architect and industrial designer. He is known for his designs of the Pirelli tower in Milan and - in The Netherlands - the building for the department store De Bijenkorf in Eindhoven. Ponti has designed over a hundred building in Italy and the rest of the world. Giò Ponti graduated with a degree in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano.
