Johannes Von Stumm
Educated in Germany the artist came to the UK in 1989 and worked with Peter Layton and Clifford Reney before working in the experimental glass works, New York. In 1995 the artist opened a studio at South Fawley, Oxfordshire and two years later joined the Royal Society of British Sculptors. The artist has exhibited widely around the world including Germany, Japan and the UK. Commissions include those for the Prudential Group and Cushman and Wakefield.
My sculptures are made out of glass, stone, metal and sometimes wood. these materials unite in their strength and fragility to create a delicate balance. Since a couple of years I am working at a series of 'Immaterial Figures'.
Influences
Being eighteen and studying French for some weeks at Paris, I discovered the musee Rodin. Rodin's work with its strength and passion inspired me and since
