Very decorative Mid-Century animal sculpture with beautiful brown and grey glazes by well known German sculptor Emy Roeder. Emilie Julie (Emy) Roeder was a German sculptor and draughtsman. She received fame and recognition through her sculptures and portraits (by Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Gustav Seitz, among others). Often recurring themes in her work are women, the mother and her child, and animals. She worked mainly with the materials wood and bronze. In 1966, Roeder received the Großer Kulturpreis der Stadt Würzburg for her entire oeuvre.
