This unique glass object is designed by Barbara Nanning and executed at Novy Bor, Czech Republic. This gilded glass object belongs to the 'Verre églomisé' series (2002-2017). Since 2001, Nanning travels to Novy Bor every year. Novy Bor is a bulwark of glass decoration, where possibilities as regards to finishing, such as grinding, polishing and gilding, offer a great challenge. Here, Nanning brings the gilding of glass into play, a forgotten decorative technique that enriches the sensual inner surfaces of her glass sculptures.
