Work from her earliest period. Babs told me: 'These objects were constructed by stacking twisted coils. Rolling out clay into a coil and building up from the base. Then building the clay coils on top of each other and connecting them. With this technique, very few came out of the firing well. All my work after that was built up with pieces of cloth.'
