This wooden piano lamp with white lacquer was designed by Dutch furniture and interior designer Jac. van den Bosch for 't Binnenhuis in 1924. The model number of the lamp is 'Opus 2179'. 't Binnenhuis was a furniture manufacturer in Amsterdam from 1900 until 1929. Van den Bosch was one of the founders of the store. The Amsterdam born artist worked together with other Dutch Art Nouveau artists such as his friend H.P. Berlage. He took lessons from P.J.H. Cuypers, the architect of both the Rijksmuseum and the Central Station in Amsterdam, at the National School of Applied Arts in Amsterdam.
