Marius-Ernest Sabino
Marius Ernest Sabino (1878-1961) studied at the L'Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratifs and the Beaux Arts de Paris. Sabino developed a special interest for electrics and its effect on glass manufacture. After WWI Sabino founded his own factory that made traditional wooden and bronze light fixtures. Later he switched to glass, which he used innovatively. He designed light fixtures and chandeliers in which glass was not serving decorative purposes but was a principal component. Besides light objects he also designed vases and decorative objects. Sabino also developed his own chemical formula for opalescent glass.
