Wonderfully modelled bronze sculpture of a lying ox, made by Lambertus Zijl in 1916. Although it was probably made in a tiny batch, specimens of this very rare piece were to us hitherto unknown. The bronze is in an excellent condition and signed with the year and artist’s monogram on the side of the base (see last photo). The object is signed with 'LZ '16'.
