H. Th. J. A. Busquet

The Netherlands 1914 - 1977

Herman Theodoor Jan Anthoin (H. Th. J. A.) Busquet (1914-1977) is best known for his work for the Hala lamp factory. Hala was set up during the economic crisis in the 1930s. In their product designs they looked for effective simple designs that could be produced cost-effectively. Busquet was the permanent designer of Hala until 1955. Here he designed lamps that consisted of simple elements, composed of tube and rod iron and folded caps. His most famous design is probably the Pinocchio lamp, which was already a beloved product at the time.
